IBM Cognos Analytics: Understanding and Applying SQL
Course Description:
This basic course is for everyone needing to write, support, or understand SQL queries. This includes but is not limited to end-users, programmers, application designers, database administrators, and system administrators who do not yet have knowledge of the SQL Data Manipulation Language for IBM Cognos Analytics.

• Introduction to SQL
• Simple SQL Queries
• Retrieving Data from Multiple Tables
• Scalar Functions and Arithmetic
• Column Functions and Grouping
• Insert, update, and delete rows
• Union and union all
• Using Subqueries
• Maintaining data
• Interaction with applications
• Additional report-building techniques
Prerequisites:
• An understanding of your organization’s business reporting needs
• Basic database knowledge and/or understanding
Notes:
• This curriculum is based on the most recent version of IBM Cognos Analytics (v11.x)
• All our instructors are IBM Cognos Analytics certified
• Our training courses are aimed at self-study
• Database skills are not required
• CPE credits available upon completion
